Beowulf Project

Choose one of the following projects as a conclusion to Beowulf:

Draw illustrations of 3 of the following Beowulf characters or places:
· Hrothgar
· Herot
· Young Beowulf
· Grendel
· Grendel’s Mother
· Grendel’s Mother’s Lair
· Old Beowulf
· The Dragon
· The Dragon’s “Stone Tower”
You cannot draw stick figures. Must show details of the characters according to how you view them.

In modern day English, rewrite one of the battles of Beowulf. Tell it in story form from third person limited or omniscient point of view. (5 paragraph minimum)

Write a newspaper human interest article about Beowulf and his three battles. Include information about his Anglo/Saxon background and the characteristics that it includes. (5 paragraph minimum)

Write a modern poem about Beowulf. (Ten stanzas (5-10 lines each) minimum)

Research food from the Anglo Saxon period. Write a 5 paragraph description of a mead-hall feast in Herot before the attacks of Grendel.
